(Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)Notre Dame’s football program has one of its biggest games of the season on Saturday, as the Fighting Irish are set to take on Syracuse at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx.Brian Kelly’s program has received some major recruiting news in anticipation of that contest.This week, Notre Dame received a major commitment that propelled the program up the recruiting rankings.Marist Liufau, a linebacker out of Hawaii, committed to the Fighting Irish.The commitment put Notre Dame ahead of Ohio State in the team recruiting rankings.From 247Sports:Notre Dame added a commitment from one of Hawaii’s top prospects earlier today in Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou high school three-star linebacker Marist Liufau. The 6-3, 210-pounder pledged to the Fighting Irish shortly after his Notre Dame official visit, which was also the weekend he landed the offer. His offer list also included USC, Arizona, Boise State, Utah, Hawaii, Oregon, San Diego State, Utah State and Washington State.Liufau becomes commitment No. 20 for Notre Dame from the class of 2019. His pledge also boosts the Fighting Irish up one spot according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
